WOODSTOCK

Our headquarters. Our basecamp. Our heartbeat. This facility is where we receive carcasses and do the actual butchery. Like, this is where we cut stuff up. As whole-beast butchers, it is our job to break full carcasses down into various primals, sub-primals and secondary cuts and under this roof you’ll find our cold room, our production areas and our smoking machine. In other words, it’s a full-scale working butchery in the heart of Woodstock.

We are unapologetic about the fact that meat comes from an animal and, as a result, carcasses are visible through window displays. You can also watch our blockmen working, which means at any given time you might catch them making sausages, brining bacon, pressing hamburger patties, cutting steaks or portioning lamb chops. If there is a speciality cut that you want, or if you’d like to hang out and talk to our butchers for a while, this is the shop to visit.

A small retail store is neatly attached to the production facility with a wide range of products. At Woodstock we offer Rosetta pour-over coffee and a simple food menu including our (famous) toasted ham and cheese sandwich.

CLAREMONT

Palmyra is a small but considered store packed with options. Receiving goods on a daily basis from Woodstock means that a wide range of cuts are always available. Things like rolled porchetta, 30-day dry aged prime rib, house-made beef stock, lamb ribs and fresh chorizo are some examples of what to expect. Over and above the meat, we have a solid lineup of provisions, offering items like free range eggs, various curated olive oils, cookery books and mozzarella di bufala. We invite you to pop in and check out what is on offer for the day, or to place an order which can be cut at Woodstock and delivered here for collection.

As we strive to make our meat more accessible, Gardens Centre provides us with the perfect opportunity for this. The centre itself boasts plenty of parking, which allows us to make our product readily available to more people. Getting to FFMM is no longer “a mission” - simply combine your weekly fruit and veg shop with a trip to our store. We are located at the entrance to Woolies, which means you can grab whatever you need next door, before loading up on ethically-sourced meat from us. With production happening at our Woodstock HQ, daily deliveries to Gardens ensure that you’ll still get a wide range of things like freshly-made sausages, thick-cut steaks, pork chops, legs of lamb and slabs of brisket. If you need to pop in for an emergency top-up of biltong or droewors, we’ve got you covered too. You could even buy your milk, cheese and eggs from a shop that cares where they came from. Oh, we sell books and FFMM merch too. Come on in.

THE ORANJEZICHT CITY FARM MARKET

Durbanville sees a bit of a brand evolution for us, as we introduce our most advanced sit-down food menu. Built around our philosophy of nose-to-tail, the menu offering involves secondary cuts and an approach that sees us using the whole carcass. Donuts fried in beef fat? You bet. The idea is that simple food can still be made with love, respect and attention. So expect a burger. Obviously. But know that it will be the best burger in town. Simple sandwiches sit alongside classic salads like the perfect Caesar and Greek. You can enjoy a cup of bone broth, or sit down to a gammon steak with a fried egg. Naturally, our retail butchery will be on show, with meat sourced from small, independent farms. The meat is all grass-fed. All free range. All reared on pastures with old-school methods. No feedlot nonsense here. You might be cooking at home, you might be dropping in for a bite. Either way, we’ve got you covered.
